possible clutch cable stretch?

i bought a 1998 kx125 for 500 bucsks yesterday. the kid thought it needed a clutch. i opened it up today and the basket was only slightly notched. i did one in me CR and it was at least 2-3 times worse and i was riding on it. so my question is, is it possible for your cable stretch? all the cable ajustment and to the max. is this common? thanks.

Something similar happened on my KDX 200. The adjuster bolt on the clutch lever wound itself out. It made the clutch never fully disengage.I had to have the adjuster all the way in for it to work right. I replaced the cable and the bike goes much better now.

cool thanks. i was just happy to see the clutch was ok. now im wondering if its a bigger problem. ill just replace the cable and go from there.
