I am turning a 01 TM 250 mx into a Hare Scramble/Enduro bike. Will a Powernow increase the bottom end power? Any other ways to get the bottom power a little stronger?
Thanks

It may change the part throttle reponse somewhat, but it won't change the low end power. Getting any sort of low end power out of a TM250 MX bike will be tough without major changes.

Boyesen Dual Stage Reeds help a bit.
Another idea would be to mount the lighting setup from the enduro version (bolts right on the ignition rotor). This would of course only tame the engine without adding low-rev power.

It will be hard to get low end out of that bike without spending a good bit of $. Out of all the little things I tried the best mod was changing out to a 36mm carb. It took about a month of testing to get the needle and jet combo but it did help out.

Good luck,

bte,

that's interesting!
I still have my old 96 TM250 lying around here as a basket-case and one of the plans is to reassemble it it hand it over to a friend of mine. She is a beginner rider and currently has an absolutely worn out RMX which just refuses to die. I am a bit sceptical if the somewhat pipey TM would be the right bike for her. I didn't have any problems with the motor characteristics but she might have.
Can you still remeber or look up the jetting/kind of fuel/oil-ratio combo you ran with the 36 mm carb? A Keihin PWK or a Mikuni?

I currently own the 96 bike and i certainly wouldnt call it pipey. Its ultra smooth....and i would have said very similar to a slightly modded rmx! Looking for a new exhaust for my bike anyone know where i can get one? Anybody have spares theyd like to sell of any sort for this bike?

TM-Frank,
I will look around to see if I can find it.
I think it was a 14?? series needle, and around a 185-190m 45p.
Like I said, I look around and see if I can get you the info.
