I have a 2002 xr 650. I want to put a new top clamp that will move the bars away from me and up. Im also wanting to put pro tapers on the bike...I basically want the bike to be comfortable to ride while standing. I currently feel like im trying to ride a beach ball. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has done this mod. I would also like to know top clamp brand as well as pro taper bend.. THanks for any info. Great site as usual

I went with the Scotts top clamp and ProTaper CR-HI bend bars and like this setup very much.

Almost any other bend would be a step in the right direction as the stock setup is painfully cramped even for yours truely at 5'10". I'm fond of the doug henry bend, or the kevin windham bend. Both have a pretty straight sweep, and are a decent height. As for the clamps, Go to www.mxsouth.com and look for triple clamps theres about 5 or 6 different setups I'm sure one of them will be to your liking.

The Jimmy Button bend Renthals are a nice big bar, I'm 6'2" and they helped on my XR600
