I believe I know 2 of them. I'm not for sure though.
Sidi - I've always said it just like "cd"
and
Acerbis - I've always pronounced as "ass-er-bis"
I could be completely wrong but thats just how I've always said those 2.
Acerbis = "uh-chair-bees"......I saw the pronounciation on an Acerbis T-Shirt once. If I remember right, the shirt showed the letters "Ah, then a chair, then a group of bees, with "+" signs in between.
Let me get this straight, we're all here typing, trying to explain to others how to say something that we can only write. I think Hooked On Phonics needs to advertise here!:)
Elk
1. Gaerne - gar-ney
2. Shoei ......Showee
3. Arai .......A ray I
4. Sinisalo ......Sin saal o
5. Acerbis .......A ser bis
This is the way I pronounce them and it because thats the way I first heard them. I think its correct and if someone over seas pronounces it differently I think it might just be their accent. (of course not mine ;) )
Gar-Nay (with a hard G sound)
Show -eeee
A - Rye (long "A" sound: "ahhh")
Sin (as in go to hell) ee-saaa-low
Ah-Chair-beez (used to work there, I oughtta know)
...and its AXO, a WORD, not A-X-O (initials), its derived from an Italian slang word ASSOS that means "winning spirit"
Keee - Hin (short I sound, rhymes with tin)
Sidi = Seee-Deee (Its a Dino Signori (owner) reversed acronym)
