[img2=left]http://dirtrider.net/news/81maico.jpg[/img2]Racer Productions and Parts Unlimited will celebrate 30 years of competition at the Kawasaki/Monster Energy National at High Point Raceway, presented by Anderson & Strudwick, Round 2 of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship, presented by FMF. On Saturday, May 27, Parts Unlimited will host an exclusive vintage motorcycle show and exhibition at High Point featuring bikes from the earliest days of American motocross.
Riders are encouraged to bring their vintage bikes to High Point for the weekend and show them off under the Parts Unlimited tent. A panel of judges will vote to decide the best bikes, and awards will be handed out in four classes: Mini (such as Honda QA50 and XR75), Vintage (1974 and older), Evolution (1975-1980) and Modern (1981-1995).
"We're going to celebrate the rich heritage of one of the premier motocross races and one of the premier motocross tracks in the world," says Parts Unlimited's Rob Buydos. "And if all goes well, we may put something extra-special together for Sunday's race."
There is no charge to enter the exhibition, so anyone with a bike that fits the vintage divisions can put their machine on display and enter the judged competition. Signup runs from 10 – 12 at the Parts Unlimited tent on Saturday, May 27. Bikes will then be on display at the tent from 12 – 5 p.m. Saturday.
The 30th annual Kawasaki/Monster Energy National at High Point Raceway, presented by Anderson & Strudwick, Round 2 of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship, presented by FMF, runs Friday May 26th through Sunday May 28th in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. For more information, log on to www.racerproductions.com or call 304/284-0084.
