pw 50 trouble please help

my sons pw 50 wont idle with out the choke on it runs fine at high rmp with it off but when u stop it dies unless the choke is on ive changed the plug the gas and cleaned the air cleaner but still nuthin any ideas would be great thanx

Have you tried adjusting the idle screw on the side of the carb?

Fordman...go back a page or two and read the thread "PW50 won't start" as there are many helpful tips in there.

It sounds like you either have an air leak or something gummed-up in the Carb.

if thats the case your in for a bummer...try finding that crappy little plastic bushing. Yam says you need to buy a new carb to obtain it.

i just orderd the rubber gasket behind the bushing i think the bushing is ok but i could order that also they must be selling those parts now

or it could indicate that both yam dealers close to me are bone heads...which I'm inclined to believe. don't even stock a piston for a pw50...

i found the problem the the small jet in the carb was pluged cleaned it and runs great
