PW50 Exhaust

Can you cut the spark arrestor or not? What will be the effects? This is a stock 2003 bike. Thanks

PW80 Exhaust

I am new to bikes. What are the parts to the exhaust system? Starting at the head of the engine? The pipe coming off the head has the restrictor washer in it and it can be removed right? Then the pipe continues up to the muffler, then to the silencer. What does the silencer benefit except making the bike quiet. What would happen if it was to be removed? Thanks

The washer can be removed, and the arrestor can be cut off. It is much simpler to pull the baffling aout of the exhaust. It allows the exhaust to flow more freely and provides a little more top end power. I guess the parts of the exhaust are the head pipe, silencer, and baffle. Anybody else have other names that you prefer?

Thanks for that info. Is everything that person talking about true. As far as things to do or would you stay away from some? Also any pics on the PW80 as far as what to cut out and what not. Thanks

if your remove the silencer you will lose backpressure causing u to lose horsepower you can probly take out the baffle and that would add hp
A reduction of backpressure would result in a loss of bottom end torque while providing more on the top end. Removing the baffle will also result in a reduction of backpressure.
