I am heading down toward Crestview to help someone move. I plan on checking out (riding) the trails at the Oakgrove MX park near Baker FL this Sunday. Can anyone out there tell me what these trails are like?

Thanks:cool:

Sounds good -
Let me be more specific about the trails:

1) Is the soil sand, clay, soft, hardpack, rocks, roots, snot roots, swamp?

2) Is the terrain hilly or flat?

3) Is there alot of mud and or water crossings?

4) About how many miles of trail?

5) Hardwood hammocks and medium pines?

6) Suspension full soft or hard?

7) Does anyone want to go ride?

Surprises are good, I just want to dream a little before I get there.

Thanks

There is some sand and lots, lots of roots! The area is very flat and there are water crossings via pallets and elevated bridges. There should be some mud, but nothing to worry about. The layout that we rode in Dec. was only 5.5 miles, vintage mx track included. I don't know if they have other trails or not. Overall, it is a very fun place to ride!

Thanks 612 and KDXfile

Mark -

I will be heading down to MS for the race. I didn't pre-enter. I'll look for your row and if you've got space available I'll get on it. I sent Yellowleaf a check so I guess I'll be seeing you guys out there (at least as you are passing me!)

It sounds like the MS race is a fairly fast course although I don't think I am at risk of burning any checks yet. Are you going on Saturday for the HS? I haven't decided yet but I'll need to get a room regardless - first floor so I can put my bike next to my bed. I wouldn't want it to get dirty.

BTW - new bike yet?

I'll be there for both the enduro and the hare scramble. I don't have a row yet, but I may end up on row 10 with some friends of mine. If I don't it'll be on whatever row I can get. This race has some tight sections. I hope the weather is good.
