I want to lower my son's KX60 about 2" as cheaply as possible. I found the Berg racing links on Ebay, but I'd like to do it myself if possible. Does anyone know the length that I would use to lower it by 2"?
I use the Berg lowering link and dropped the rear a 2.0" and front about 1.5" for about a two weeks. After my son gained some confidence by being able to tippy toe with both feet he thinks he's man enough to have it back up to stock height. I increase both front and rear .5" and that's all he can handle right now. I guess if you want some adjustability the Berg comes in handy, if not I'm sure a machine shop could fab some thing up for less...... non-adjustable though.
you could use some heim joints and a threaded sleeve but the cost would be sorta high. you could use some aluminum stock and make a link from that using trial and error. just remember a longer link equals a lower bike.
