I'm moving my Nephew up to a KX60 from his current XR50. I take him out to the woods and the local tracks but I'd also like to let him continue to ride around my couple of acre yard without pissing off the neighbors. How can I quiet down the exhaust noise of the new KX to an acceptable minimum level so he can still ride at home too like he does on his 50?

You've got to repack the silencer pretty regularly on those things

Another old school trick is to take a length of old inner tube (about 8-10 inches) and place it over the silencer.

I usually wrap some alum foil around the silencer , the put the end of the tube over that and hold it all on with a hose clamp.

The inner tube will droop off the end, but it really cuts how far the noise travels.
