Radiator Grille

I recently was riding when i noticed my plastic radiator grille missing from the left side. i was wondering how important it is that it should be there. should i go right out and get one or is it OK if i put it off for a few weeks.

so that piece missing can damage my radiator.

It's there to help protect from rocks and such that could fly into the radiator.
