That's what my daughter wants. Any ideas on a good one and a decent price range? I want to get her one that actually works in the dirt if that's possible, imagine that.

Yes you can get the TYCO Jeremy McGrath RC YZ250
If I am not mistaken it's the only one out there?
And to tell you the truth it likes dirt the best:) The only think it won't ride on is smooth surfaces like lino. It has a GYRO in the back wheel that spins VERY fast and keeps the bike up and stable.
It is VERY durable I have ran mine into curbs full out and it is still fine.
It goes pretty quick too! You can get them on ebay, toys r us, etc...
I would reccomend it ;)

How old is your daughter?? My 5yr old cant operate the RC dirt bike as well as she can the RC truck....

The dirt bikes as pretty hard to controll and like everything else, the commericals make it look alot easier than it is in real life.

Jeff,

The rc dirtbikes are so much fun. As long as you are there to show her how she will be fine with it.

Besides you will enjoy the heck out of it too. I had one a couple of years ago and was thinking about getting myself one for Christmas.

How was Burleson last week?

Sincerely,

Riz

Well Riz, let me tell you.

1st and foremost, I had a good time, other than that I believe my daughter summed it up the best. Incase you didn't see my reply in another post, she said "Dad I love you and I'm proud of you but... you suck!"

I only raced the over 25 novice class and placed 6th out of 6 riders in both motos. I felt like I was giving it my all just to keep up with the others but just couldn't hang. Though I felt pretty good I think there was this under lying fear that I might pop my shoulder out like I did in practice a couple of weeks back so I just rode as fast as I could and still feel like I was in control. One thing different this past week was the track was a lot rougher than in the past but all in all I had a blast.

The races actually went a little longer than normal due to a heavier rider turn but being in no hurry to get home I stayed and rode the track a while after the races with my daughter. The real nightmare was the drive home, Thanksgiving traffic was BAD. The 1 1/4 drive took over 3 hours.

Me and my buddies are going back to Burleson this weekend, if you get a chance come out and give it a shot.

If my bike is still running I will try to get there this weekend. It is badly due for a tear down.

What time can you practise on Sunday?

And you need to come to Shady Grove too.

Sincerely,

Riz

It closes shortly after the races are over. If you asking because you're wanting to ride after the races they only let you ride for a few minutes, my guess is about 30 or so after they are done because they groom the track. The races normally last about 3 or 4 hours depending on the turn out.

I plan to do Shady Grove one of these days but I can't tell you when it's going to be right now. I'll definatly let you know as soon as I get a chance to get up that way.
