I've been looking through a ton of these posts for a rc valve adjustment procedure for an 04' cr250. Many posts talk about a 12mm adjustment for the rear cable, but i still have questions about it. Such as; Is this 12mm supposed to be 1) exposed cable or 2) distance from adjustment nut to butterfly?
and
Should the 12mm measurement be made when 1)the rc valve is fully closed or 2) rc valve is in the idle position.

My bike (and i guess this is normal) has about an 1/8 in. gap between the butterfly and stop pin when in the idle position.

Does anyone know where this procedure is posted?

Thanks

if you do a search there is a better thread with a link to a German (i think?) website that has good photos on this procedure, and even a dyno graph from memory.
i did this on my bike but it was already set pretty much right so i couldnt really tell any difference. basically you are removing the slack from the cable that pulls the valve around.
