real (old) newbie gets a 95 yz250, advice?

I am picking up a '95 yz250 next weekend, previous owner rebuilt the wheels, sleeved it, new top end. etc. what should I look out for with this bike?

Oh by the way I'm 38, have ZERO dirt experience, and don't want to kill myself! LOL.

I do just want to have some fun on this bike and improve my riding in the process.

Any input would be helpful.

I have ridden a few of the YZs from that year and they had a ggod wide spread of power as I remember. As for advice to a newbie...........get all the protective gear you can afford and take it easy till you get the feel of what you are doing. Have fun :)
