Does putting a braided rear brake hose on a 97 220 help the feel much? I have always liked more sensitive brakes and the kdx isn't cutting the mustard in this area.

I had the same problem -- the rear brake was hard to modulate -- either locked or off -- so I changed to semi-metallic pads (the EBC "X" type) and it has a lot better feel now. Those pads do wear a good deal faster than the full metallic pads, but it is worth it to me for the feel.
