Greetings all,

A question for those much smarter than me...
Bought this hub/rim/tire on the cheap. I wanted to have a spare plus learn how to lace a wheel with this little project.

Question I have is this...in this pic you'll see that one of the sprocket mount tabs hab been broken. Probably from being overtorqued.

Can this be repaired? I've got zero welding skills, but could a quality welding shop rebuild the area, so it could be reshaped/retapped?

Thanks for any info

it could be fixed, probably. You'd have to take the wheel apart first -- the rim, the spokes, etc. -- and there'd be labor involved with the repair.

I guess the question would be to do a cost/benefit analisys to see whether having the hub fixed (and having just a new hub) would be better than having a new hub?
