On a 01 YZ 250
Where should the rebound adj. screw be set before removing and installing the fork caps.
Does it matter if they are turned all the way out or in before installing the fork cap onto the dampner rod?
The manual say's to record the setting. which was set at 8 out.
I am replacing the seals for a friend who is low on $$$$$$$$.
Thanks for any pointers

The locatation of the rebound adjuster should be backed all the way prior to installation on the YZ. Before you install the fork cap on the piston rod just make sure that there is spring tension on the rebound adjusting rod and that it will push down almost flush to the top of the piston rod.

You should get about 10 full turns of the fork cap before it bottoms on the piston rod (make sure it is not botoming out on the jam nut), this is a good way to check that you have full thread engagement.

Take Care, John

Thanks a bunch
Thats how they went back together.
You could feel the cap bottom on the rod before reaching the jam nut.
Is it a standard to back the adjusters out before dissaambely on all or most forks?
Thanks again
Doug
