Removing Cylinder

I'm sending a cylinder from my 2001 cr 250 to Eric Gorr. I have the 4 bolts off but can only get the cylynder to wiggle a little bit. I have the piston as low as it will go. Is it safe to tap it on the sides with a rubber hammer to help loosen it? Any suggestions?

yes just make sure you bring it up evenly and that you have all of the powervalve linkages disconnected (if any) :)
