Repacking Silencer

I have a pro circuit shorty silencer and I can not get it to come apart. I have took of the allen bolts and noticed there is some silicone where the core slides out. Does anyone know how to get this stupid thing apart?

I have one as well on my bike. The thing that worked for mine was to take a torch and heat up around the silicone area and it came right apart.

how many times should you wrap the silencer packing?

Wrap it around until you can't anymore. But don't wrap around too tight or it wont do any good. As for taking it apart just grap the stinger and take a rubber mallet and tap the mounting tabs on the mid section and it should come right off

Also try using a razor blade on the joint where the silicone is. Might help a little.
