Howdy all, I was wondering if any of you folk know the best way to repair the headlight cover (Plastic) for my XT600. All of the plastic bolt holes are buggered, and a new one is like $100 US. I think If I can putty where the holes are I may be able to get away with the broken unit. I need some sort of exopy, putty that bonds well to motorcycle plasic and can be drilled, and is fairly stong. Any comments appreciated

I've used short piesces of allum. channel stock. 3/8' wide by 1/4' tall. Attach with pop rivets and drill your holes where you need them. The channel stock is rigid but will bend easily enough to contour. A 6 foot long piece is about $8.00 and is available at most hardware stores. You can use self drilling self tapping screws if you don't have pop rivots.
