Ridges of Glen Helen

These are the ridges generally used for D37 GP's at Glen Helen (although this happens to be a WORCS race). They can't water up there, thus all the dust.

I've been in a couple of GP's there myself, and sometimes you can't see past your front fender. At these times, you're thinking that maybe you're in a bad dream and will soon awake. I was lucky the those times (except the one collision on an uphill).

There have many people carted off with busted bones - mostly from going over the edge of the ridge (not even colliding with anyone).

I have done quite a few races there and always HATE THE RIDGES. It's almost always dusty and there is no place to go when they pile up if front of you like that.

The second clip guy eventually got past only to ditch it (may have no footbrake) but I did not notice anyone warning people until it was too late just lots of people standing to the side watching the carnage grow. My only experience of this type of pile up was the second straight at MX when I saw 2 wheels side on at chest height blocking my path(bike was upside-down) and trying to get up quickly in the dust my footing felt funny and as the dust cleared I was standing on top of someones back trying to not fall completely over, fortunately noone got worse than a bruise but not a nice feeling

I enjoyed racing but at my age, I always had to consider the fact that I had to work the next day. When the risk outways the reward ($10 plastic and wooden plaque) I have to call "no joy". Seeing it from several different cameras was pretty wicked. Hope noone was seriously injured.
