HI, I am looking to make some new friends to ride trails on the weekends in the Riverside area. I rode weekly for about 10 years and I am just getting back into the sport. I have a tt-225 and I have been going to the BADLANDS area (between Moreno Valley and Beaumont). The riding is great and I have had no problems the half a dozen times I have rode there. There are miles of trails. I am trying to get out every weekend. I look forward to hearing from you. :)

Welcome

You'll find lots of riding buddies down here. Matter of fact, a group of us went yesterday (Corona) and a bunch are in Arrowhead right now. :)

Keep an eye on this forum -- and don't be shy about posting your own invite for some morning/afternoon. That way, if you actually host your first ride, you can avoid the initiation-wear on your first ride. (Ol89r just loves checking out the new guys in a thong/bikini/tutu, etc.)

Where and what do you teach?

Thanks for the reply Longtime. I will take your advice and host a ride some time soon. I was a sociology instructor at Cal State and at the community college level for about a decade. I now teach 6th grade at a public school and love it (4th year doing this). I have been to0 arrowhead a couple of time, but I there are much more trails in the BADLANDS and it's only a few minutes from my house. Thanks again for they reply Longtime.

Hi Professor, I a former M.V res of 15 yrs. now living in Murrieta. The badlands, gilman springs and Rechie ( sp ) canyon are all fun places to ride. I been spending most of my riding time ( since 86 ) out by Canyon Lake/Quail Valley, lots of good riding out there also. Like LT said, watch this forum for rides and we'll watch out for yours and we'll hookup soon.

BTW, Welcome to DRN

Welcome Professor to the best spot on the net. I came here almost two years ago looking for a few new riding buddies. In that time, we have amassed over 30 local and semi-local riders.

We usually have at least two or three small rides a month and one large group ride. We have all types of riders on all types of bikes. If you can handle 6th graders, you can handle anything we can dish out.:scream:

If that isn't enough, check out the Dirtweek forum for even bigger annual events.

Like that LongTime fella said, keep an eye on this forum for upcoming rides. The thong/bikini/tutu thing is something we started as a initiation process for the new riders. We could never get anyone to wear one til LongTime came along. :p Now he wants to wear it all the time. (Oh crap, he's going to get me for that one!)

Anyway, we welcome you to join us and we are looking forward to checking out your area at the Badlands.

Kw, it probably is closed, but I have never had a problem. I park on Gilman Springs road on the way to San Jacinto. I usually pull off right after the Golf ccourse (turn right). Email me and perhaps we can go out next weekend, I am also going out today. My email is socprofessor@yahoo.com
