Does any one know of a way to put in a rivet (pre drilled hole) without a rivet gun? I have two rivets on a boot buckle I have to replace and I'm trying to save a few dollars and skip the purchase!

If you can get a hammer to it, you can remove the nail from the rivet and put the rivet through the hole and use a ball pein hammer to pein the rivet.

HMMMM

If they are for your boots then I am guessing that they are not "pop" rivets. If they are a plain metal rivet (looks like a capital letter T) then I would place it through the existing hole (so the nice side is exposed) , on the inside I would place a washer over the small end of the rivet then place the rivet (with boot attached) on an anvil and start "peening" over the small end. Basically you have to mash or mushroom the end on the rivet to make it bigger than the hole it just got pushed through. The washer just makes a stronger job of it.
