The forks on my 1998 rm 125 need new sliders and seals. I have found a set of refreshed forks from a 1996 rm 125 that will fit on my 1998 and they are cheaper than what it would cost to have mine fixed. Now, even though they will fit my bike, the internals must be different because the forks carry a different part # between 96 and 98. So, my question is, will the 1996 forks be even close to as good as the 1998 forks are? Obviously since they have different part numbers the 1998 forks are probably improved some over the 1996 forks, but who knows..I dont really have the cash to fix mine, but if the 1996 forks arent going to be even close to as good as the 1998 forks would be if i had them fixed, then i guess ill just have to wait and have mine fixed, but if they are almost as good, i will just get the rebuilt 1996 forks for less.
