Oh boy. The 03's a handful as a woods motor.......especially if it"s tight stuff. Porting tailored towards woods riding is your biggest help. Other than that, try a heavy flywheel (12-13oz) A reed spacer from a YZ250 fits, is cheap, and will help mellow the hit. Handling... they're sweet in the woods (good turning) but get your weight shifted rearward when at speed (nervous front end) Re-valving your suspension works wonders. They like race gas at 50/50......but I run pump with Silkolene at 40:1. Our altitude here is close to yours, and right now it's about 60 degrees here. My jetting for these conditions would be.... pilot 45, needle #2 slot, 168-170 main. When real cold... pilot 48, main 172. Hot... pilot 42-45, 165-168 main. If you're running 50/50 fuel, you MAY be able to go a little leaner. The '03's are fussy to jet (sensative to temp changes.) Have fun.......she's a runner.
