I have got a '99 RMX250. Australian spec. I think it is based on the '96 '97 RM 250. I am currently going through a top and bottom rebuild. Basically a freshen up. When I split the cases and inspected second gear on the drive shaft. the leading edge of the teeth were pitted, as if the hardening has been chipping off. I have replaced the gear. the corresponding gear is ok. Is this normal for the suzuki, and is there a repair for it??.
I have since heard that suzuki's have suspect boxes, any one had a bad experience with them?.
Secondly, the middle sliding bit in the powervalve has a crack in it.
this is a replacement pv after the oem one broke the arm off about three years ago.
That also had a crack in the same place. any thoughts on this.
I cant afford to upgrade, so am going over the hole thing to get another couple of years out of it.
Thanks for your time.
