rm250 no spark

son was riding the 250 and it shut off put a new plug in it and left it out and no spark. what usually goes wrong on these ? coil, stator pickup or cdi? thx :cool: :cool:

It's a suzuki.....could be the kill switch, or the coil, or the stator, or the plug wire......lol. You gotta break out the service manual and multimeter!

Cheapest method I know of. After that, you really need the book and ohm meter. The rest of the parts are expensive! The new plug was grounded when you checked it for spark?

Have you got anyone who has the same bike close by? That way you switch the CDI and can exlude it if there is still no spark. Also you need to check if the plug, or the plugholder are OK. Or that the coil did not come loose.

Other than that you need to go through the motions and test resistances of the stator and the coil.
