Most Factory settings have single stage stacks. My question is-- say you put in a 12.1 to make this stack a 2-stage stack how much does this reduce the overall dampaning and why or is the overall the same Example
stock
10-24.15 10-24.15
22.15 12.1
20.15 22.15
18.15 20.15
16.15 18.15
14.15 16.15
12.15 14.15
11.25 12.15
11.25

I can't tell you % wise what the difference will be. I do know that your crossover will make the suspension a lot softer thruought the whole stroke.

As you can imagine the crossover will allow the shims above it to bend away from the piston face a lot more before they come in contact with the shims below the crossover which will let more oil flow therfore making it softer. The reason it is softer thru the whole stroke is because you have now already used up part of your valving resistance and your crossover has allowed your forks to build up more speed/momentem than your remaining shim stack may be able to handle. I sometimes like to place a shim stack on a valve and then hold it up to the light . This sometimes gives you an insight into how that stack may work compared to your previous stack.
