I added a lower link to my wr250F and they stated in the instructions to reset the sag. I read the manual and do not think that will set the sag properly since it is referencing taking the measurement differences from the axle to the fender which has now changed with the lower link. Am I thinking correctly? Is there a better way to verify the sag is still correct? I have not changed the sag since I 1st got the bike in 03.
Regardless of what you did to the suspension, you still check and set the sag the same way.
You aren't shooting for a particular distance from the fender to the rear axle bolt, just the difference in the distance.
It could be 500 mm static, or it could be 400 mm. The only important part is the difference between that first measurement and the weighted measurement.
Cause the link will change the geometry of the swingarm with and without weight on it.
