i have a 96cr250 and i get headshake. how do i set the sag in the rear shock? how will i know if its rite?

would your bike on the stand be with the rear wheel on the ground or up in the air?

i set the sag but i got 105mm. is that ok? also my feet were on the ground but only balancing myself. is that ok? another thing is i didnt have my gear on. should i just re set it w/ gear on and w/ 3 people? should i do it standing up or sitting?what is the easyest way to measure this? the tape measure is hard to use.
