Ok I finally have two bikes and someone to go with me(to drive me to the doctor if or when I crash).

I am going to go to Shady Grove tomorrow.

Is it open? What are the hours?

Any tips first time on a track of any kind

I will be riding a 125.

Anything I should look out for?

Thank You,

Don't crash It is hard as cement right now. He has not watered the track and groomed it in a while. Its a fun track to ride on just beware do not go off the track there are car parts and junk all over just the sides of the track!!

Dittos.

Also - be on the look out for Charles carrying pork chops, chicken, or sausage. It is dangerous stuff because it is so good and you can possibly eat too much.

I could go there just to eat!

What ever you do, don't go over a berm on the backside of the track. The drop off is 10 ft straight down on some of them. I have seen two people hurt on one corner in particular. The berm is not that big but the drop off behind it IS. There are only a couple of obstacles that are not completely forgiving but for the most part it is pretty safe.

Charles only does the special recipe food on the weekends and he is notorious for having you sign in after your first series of laps. Everyone's handwriting looks like 5 year old's because of the arm pump.

The track is open every day from sun up to sun down. $6 to ride.

A final word of caution... If there are quads out there keep an eye on them. For some damn reason that can't figure out which direction to go on the track. :silly:
