shift lever stuck

my shift lever refuses to come off, i took out the screw, and it refuses to come off, is there another way to get it off.

There should be small gap between the two halves the screw was holding together. Have you tried prying it open so that it is not gripping the shift shaft so firmly?

Hammer, saw, plasma cutter, one of these should do the trick.

Tap a flat blade screwdriver into the gap in the shift lever and then try working it off.
