Shipping A Frame??

Does anyone have experience with shipping a frame from California?I am trying to buy a frame from a guy in Ca. and the best shipping price I could find was $100.00 from USPS.UPS was $200.00.When I look on E-bay,some guys are quoting prices of $40.00-$70.00.What's the trick?

I think there is a surcharge if you ship UPS (maybe USPS) if it is not in a "regular" shaped cardboard box. Irregular shapes dont stack up well! You can ship not in a box, but it will cost a bit more. Also, if you are using a box, what dimensions are you using? If it is just barely meeting their "oversize" definition, by trimming the box down a bit might trim off a few bucks.

And those other guys offering to ship so cheap maybe simply eating part of the cost!
