Hey, I have absolutley no where LEGAL to ride. I live in a rural town in ct, with tons of fields and trails. I used to ride the blue trails all the time, but im on probation now and cant risk getting arrested for truspassing or whatever the charge is for riding on state/town property.
Anyways, theres a person that lives down the street from me that has a lot of land. I used to ride there alot, but i was thinking if I should ask them for permission to ride...they cant see the field from their house so i should be safe, but again i cant afford them calling the cops on me. If i ask and they say yes...sweet, but if they say no then that means if they saw somene riding there theyd probobly think it was me, and report me.
Also, theres lots of town owned fields that have no use whatsoever, their just taking up space for no reason. I used to ride there to. Does anyone know of anything I can do like write a proposal or something to the town (who would i adress it to) and ask if people can ride on their fields, maybe just one. I think people use them for hunting, but thats about it. Anyways, if anyone has any comments, please let me know, thanks alot, i appreciate all of the help.

If the landowner should happen to be out on his land and find you riding, he can report you to the police. Any identifying features, and you could be prosecuted for trespassing. You would be better served to ask permission. If he says yes, gravy. If he says no, then he doesn't want people on his land and would probably prosecute. You have to respect the property of others, or we are all doomed to ride on a 5 acre tract of land in Nebraska where the owner doesn't care and the government can't find us.

I guess i should ask them. Im almost possitive theyll say no though. Im just thinking that if i ask if i can ride and they say no, i wont ride there anymore, but other kids still will, and they may think its me, because I do live like 5 houses down.
Whats the consequences if you get caught riding on a state "hiking" trail? Anyone hear of the blue trails? Do you get arrested or just get a ticket?
Thanks alot, I appreciate the help.

Nice. I looked, the first riding day is may 1st.
I live like an hour away from there, is it worth the ride? If its nice trails I'll probobly just go there every weekend. Is it crowded with bikes? Cost money?
If its 15miles of trails, Its gotta be worth the hour drive every weekend.

o ya the trails are all marked for the direction they flow and the difficulty level if u went opening day assuming it was really nice there could easly b over 50 or 60 other riders but theres always people there your supose to register your bike through the state but i never have and neither have my friends and weve gone there for the past 4 years and no one ver says nany thing at alll its a great place its a main paved road that u ride on with trails that spring away from the road plus theres 2 tracks there its a great place u should also go to netra.org if uwanted to get into racing they do trail racing its cheap and they go to tracks all in new england

CaNaDiAn,Eh?

Man that sucks, I really think you should ask him just to be on the safe side. I can't even imagine that crap you guys go through to try and ride your bikes. Where I'm from I just hopped on my bike and went wherever I wanted, and no one cared as long as you didn't destroy thier crops or anything.
