I put my Moose Reed Spacer in yesterday and I have not ridden it yet because I am not sure if I should rejet it or not? It doesn't mention anything about it on the box, so I'm not really sure what to do? It is on a 2000 YZ125.
My girlfriend has a yz85. The bikes power band is like a light switch, on, then off. Do you think a reed spacer is a good idea for this kind of bike? Do they make one for a 02 yz85. thanks
I don't know if one would help a bike that small or not. We have a cr80 and haven't put one on it, but for $20 its cheap enough to try. Mine came from Moose.
I also have one more question. When I'm warming my bike up, it seems to rev just fine in the higher rpm range, but if I let it come down to idle and try to rev it up it kind of bogs and sounds like it's about to die. What could be causing this?
The previous owner, a fellow co-worker siad that it is jetted for summer, and that it is bogging like this because it is not fully warmed up, could this be the reason why? And how long should I warm it up for?
Mine bog some until they warm up. I usually warm them up until the cylinder is fairly warm to the touch. To run them too hard when cold could damage the cylinder and piston.
You'll lose a little on the top, and yes it noticable. My buddy put one on his 00yz250 with a PC pipe and picked up a wad of power in the midrange. I ride a 500 and was impressed with the changes it made to his bike. He had the pipe before the spacer was installed and I didn't care for it before the spacer, but after it was sweet. Like I said before, well worth the $20 and 20 minutes it takes to install.
