I needed to go get some basics for my bike today, premix oil and some grease. So I got a tub of Bel-Ray Waterproof, I've read good stuff about being able to use it for everything, linkage, air filter, everything. When I was going through oils, I remember a few guys at the shop when I got my bike recommending Silkolene. So I read the label and it sounded good and I picked it up. Only one thing confused me, it says a synthetic/ester blend. The Maxima Super M I was using said synthetic petroleum. I checked my Service Manual and all it says is not to run vegatable or mineral oils. I've heard this stuff has a more distinct smell too, but odors are no concern of mine. As long as it protects well and doesn't cause any problems. But I'd appreciate if you could share your own experiences or problems with Comp-2.

Well I used to run comp-2 when I first got my cr 125 it was very clean burning oil prolly the cleanist oil ive ever used I stopped using it becuase I was tired of ordering it and also wanted to use the pro-2 oil which also worked very clean, i use Motul 800 right now but its crapy burning always getting carbon build up on piston and manifold always stays built with carbon but i plan to switch back to pro-2 since my local shops have started stocking it again.

Yeah, the shop where I bought my bike didn't carry Silkolene the day I took the bike home, so I just got Maxima. The nearest shop to me, a Suzuki dealer carries it so that's where I plan on going to pick up oil. Plus the price was pretty good too. $11 something after tax for a liter. I was trying to compare that to the $16 I paid for 64oz of Maxima, but I didn't bother converting in the store LOL.
