I have a Moose skid plate on my KDX. It does not wrap around the water pump. Does anyone know of one that protects the water pump better?

Check out Billet Racing Products at www.brpit.com. Their's looks like it wraps around both sides of the engine case pretty well. Some pics on other bikes, but not a KDX.

I also have the Moose plate, and wish I would have bought something that wrapped up.

If you do find out that their KDX model covers well, let us know.

I have a Utah Sport cycle skid plate (rocky mountain). It covers out past the water pump and the wings(don't know what there called) welded onto the bottom of the frame.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like the frame extention protectors "wings" are what is hard to build a skid plate around. I think the Utah Motor Sports is just like the Moose. I haven't looked into the one from Billet Racing for a KDX to see if they wrap around like the ones on the website. Still looking for more protection.

Do not get the Devol skid plate. I was very dissapointed with it. First, the drain hole dosnt even line up with the drin plug, so I have to remove the skidplate to change my oil (which is a PITA!), second, I had to cut a section of the skid plate away to make shifting possible. Please, learn from my mistake! The Works Connection one looks awesome, and is the same price as the Devol, I should have got that one...

I've got a Works Connection skid plate on my 2002 200. Looks great and fits perfect. No water pump guard though, but it does have the wing sticking out that should prevent all but the most direct hits.
