Let me start by saying that I am a 2 stroke man through and through. A few years ago I obtained a TTR125 on a trade, really good trade in my favor.

Here is the background info:
About a year ago, a friend was riding it and submerged it in a 3' deep puddle. I changed the oil, ran it a minute, changed the oil, ran it... several iterations until the oil looked clean. The next time a friend rode it with me, it ran fine, but then a few weeks later, it wouldn't start. Turned out the Carburetor was full of crap. I cleaned and put back together the carb and it then ran decent. I never spent much time on the bike before, so can not say it ran better, worse or the same. Now, whenever it runs, it smokes. Almost like the choke is always on.

I have checked and adjusted the valves and compression is fine, so I am guessing it is the carburetor. Also the smoke isn't like burning engine oil in appearance or smell. My questions are what do I adjust/replace? Pilot screw? If not, where should I start? Am I wrong to think it is the carburetor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
