Hello, I am wondering about being able to ride dirt bike in the winter. I am from upstate New York and in the woods and such there is not alot of ice, which the studded tires grip, but snow, lots of it, this winter is supposed to be mild, not the four feet of crusty stuff last winter. On the snow people say that the bike slides wayyyy to much and the studded tires are only good for ice.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!!!

HEy where in ny are you from. I am in williamson which is about 1/2 hour out of rochester. anyways i just ride with a really good knobbie. It usally last me all winter. I took my bike out last weekend in like 2 feet of snow. It went fine. I just keep my weight way back. It helps if you can get the front tire to float on the snow insted of cutting throught it. Send me and email to Morbidsmurf@crowfans.net with your location and any questions. Maybe we can go riding sometime.
