SoCal dual-sport deals???

Little help here folks... Anyone know of where to get a nice bike for a fair price? Family, friends, stealerships? I'd prefer a registered, plated dirt bike, but a new one would be ok at the right price... Top $ I can spend will be $6k. $5k would be better. I'll drive as far as Los Angeles to pick up a good ride. I'd like to support a DRN affiliate if possible. Thanks to all. ...N

Nick- I check the boards pretty often as I have a buddy looking for a bike also. ktmtalk.com sometimes has some dual sports for sale in your price range also try thumpertalk.com. If I see one I'll try to provide a link to it. By the way what part of El Cajon you live in I'm in the fletcher hills area just up from parkway bowl. :cool:

Hey Nick.

Don't know of any currently for sale but, I believe the '02 and earlier bikes can still be dual sported. You may want to look at a used WR400 or KTM 525.

Check with www.bajadesigns.com for the current status on registering a dirt bike for dual sport.

If I hear of one I'll let you know.

It's farther than you want to travel (northern Cal) but there are some good dual sports in the classifieds on the District 36 home page, www.ama-d36.org Check the 'dual sport wanted' thread as well.

Darn it all!!!

Sorry you guys, but I think my notification thing failed somewhere along the line, I got NONE of this. Just dropped in after work and saw the post near the top and figured I ought to check it, because I replied to Tree (thanks for the links, off to look now) and never heard back from him. (or so I thought) Grumble, grumble. Anyway, I think I have a deal on a new DRZ400S, in blue. Just can't see myself with a yellow one, which would be easy, so I have to wait.

Tree: Sounds good. When I get the new toy, I'll park it out front on Cuyamaca, so you'll know. Then it's ride, ride, ride...
