It turns out that my bearing and seal on the water pump has gone out(water in the oil, and oil in the coolant). I was in at the suzuki dealership and they (some guy in parts) said that to replace the water pump I would have to split the cases. Is it true that the cases have to be split to replace the bearing and seal? It is a 2000RM250
Thanks,
Chris

Errr.. no. That would be false.

You have to pull the clutch side cover. not the clutch cover itself, but the whole side cover.

It's really not as big of a deal as you might think.

You'll have to drain the trans & coolant (obviously), and you'll
have to disconnect the powervalve linkage(I think).

And then remove the side cover.

You may want to also order a side cover gasket while you're at it.

Pretty simple job, and it's all layed out nicely in your service manual.
