Lites Main Event

Alessi came away with the holeshot, and wen't backwards all the way to fourth. Short got in the lead at lap one, and never looked back. Ramsey held 2nd for a while, but Langston charged through the pack from about 7th to take second.

If there had been one more lap, Langston would have had it.

Home town boy Laninovich fell down on the first lap, going from last to 11th.

Big Bike Thoughts..

Carmichael got the holeshot, and led for 18 laps. Stewart was right behind him the entire race. It looked like poetry to me, Stewart mimicking (sic?) the RC.

Then, Stewart sorta stuffed RC in a tight turn, and never looked back. RC was about 2 bikes lengths behind him at the checkered flag. Awesome display by both.

RC the JS were blazingly faster than 3rd place McGrath, until Reed passed MC for third.

RC was leading his heat race when it was red flagged. I don't know what happened, but somebody was getting hurt (Fonseca???) They restarted his heat, which RC won.

Tedesco didn't do as well as I thought he should have in the main, and in his heat, he wasn't taking any crap from Reed.

Should be some good TV ....
Heat 1, MC takes JS off the track (presumably payback for last week), re-enters in last place, thinks Reed was the bad guy, charges to the lead where some pleasentries are exchanged, wins heat. Later apologizes to Reed.

The main was GREAT listening! Congrats to Shorty for holding off the sandbaggers.

Just watched the race..Great performances by Bubba, McGrath, and LaRocco!

Bubba going from last to first in the heat race was pretty funny. What's even funnier is that he really was faster then RC, he just waited till lap 18 to prove it. Very amazing rider indeed.

and how frustrated do you think Fonseca is getting?? lol

He was not proving anything, he was learning. Sign of maturity. Good to see JBS riding smart. If he keeps it up he'll take the tle this year.. That is something I'd like to see.

Exactly. I get on here hoping for a lively 'get together'. Got what I expected. Reed and RC fans with their heads buried in the dirt. Give it up, guys and gals. This is as good as it will ever get (well, at least since RC and MC).

I didn't listen to it or see it yet, but from what I have read, it sure sounds like a chess match at this point in the season. I think RC is in control at the moment. He will attack at tracks he feels he has an advantage. He will protect when at a disadvantage.

I would like to see him get a little behind in points. This will force him to show us how much he has in reserve.

Sign of maturity. Good to see JBS riding smart. If he keeps it up he'll take the tle this year.

Hey did anyone ever think about what the racing is going to be like when RC retires? Stewart would win every single race even with a lay down or 2. I cant see him losing, unless he has a huge crash. Also, hes young, so he will be riding for a while, and I doubt anyone will give him a run for his money in all his years of riding. Everyone will just be racing for 2nd.

OK Bubba is just a spoiled brat and the only reason he won is because RC let him by. He did not want to win to much and totally demoralize the kid. I also think bubba should be penalized for knocking Reed over in the corner. Now hows that! Just kidding :nener:

One of the best I've seen. I think it is just what RC said, He gave it 100% and Bubba was better. I hope somebody can find some speed or next year is going to get boring if RC calls it quits. This has been some exciting racing, but these two look so much faster than the rest of the field. Also I think I said last week Bubba would be back. I think he is over the rookie hump and he has many championships in front of him. :cool:

I am not sure Bubba is making any freinds out there, interesting that he gets mad at McGrath on TV for taking him out (pay back) then says that what he (Bubba) did last week was just a "racing incident"??? Hmmmm, sure, McGrath was letting these 2 guys by all week and he gets tagged by Bubba and Bubba says it was a racing incident. Well Bubba, maybe MC's move in the heat 1 at SD was just a "racing incident".

To top it off, he thinks it is Reed and pins Reed in a corner later, then apologizes. Some day he might actually "get it".

2) Of course he has no friends, he's spanking (badly) everyone out there. That won't get you a lot of love.

3) Had RC done that to MC last week it would have been "MC should get out of the way", "it was just racing". Where are all the "rubbing is racing" fans to support JS for that move? Oh my, the new kid touched the (part-time) king! Oh my! The only problem with that move was JS went down. Get over it.

I'm as big a MC fan as anyone and appreciate the fact that he went for his payback in the heat instead of the main (I doubt seriously he would have taken a shot at a front runner in the main). As it is, MC fans are happy to see the king put a little smack down... but what if he had face-planted JS and put him out of the series? Would everyone be happy? Face it, that was a chance he took and probably, in the big picture, not a good idea. I suppose the RC worshipers would have liked the way being cleared for another title and the TV ratings going down the "tube".

So what your saying is, you think that Bubba was OK in doing what he did to MC last week? (I don't claim to "know" much about what is appropriate and what isn't, but I will defer that to the 7x champ, I think he tends to know what is "OK". I think his actions proved what he thought. If MC would have done that (funny you should mention that, because he DIDN'T do it, that is THE POINT, RC knows he what he can do to who and where) I would say the EXACT same thing.

As far as the race,,, Bubba was very smart,, he block passed RC with only 2 laps to go,, forced RC loose all his momentum in the pass and pulled a two bike lead.. At the finish it was still only a two bike lead. I think the announcers were right aobut how smart it was for Bubba to be patient, RC was fast and he is smart. If you pass him too soon and can't gap him, he will learn by watching you.. Bubba didn't give him the chance. Maybe Bubba would have gapped him had he passed earlier, maybe not, why take the chance.

Another good race! Not great, but good. After Stewart following RC for about 10 laps, I pretty much knew what was going to happen. I felt that JS could have passed for the lead at about any time, but he played it smart. JS seams much more relaxed when following RC as opposed to being pressured into a mistake when Ricky is on his tail. What would have made it a great race for me is if there had been several lead changes which would have made the outcome less predictable. Congradulations to Stewart for a smart and well executed game plan as I felt he controlled the entire race. I would also have loved to see MC pass CR. I think the chances of that were greater than Chad catching the front two. :nener: As far as the MC/JS drama last week and this week, I think it's all just racing, even if there is some payback there. I wonder if Reed is considering some payback for Stewart next race? :laugh:
This is a memorable season for sure :aj:

I'm an RC fan, but from what I saw last week in the heat race and the main this week I think its the changing of the guard. I'm not ready to count RC out just yet for the season - I think it will be very close. If JS pulls it off, he deserves it and all the acollades (sp?). Then we can focus on the outdoors!

It seemed to me like RC knew JS would pass him and didn't muster any response after it happened. We'll see if his strategy works out.

I'm hoping Tedesco learns as much as he can from RC and steps it up a notch to at least keep JS honest next year if RC's out. After seeing him fall way back against JS in the lites, I'm not sure that'll happen.
