125/250F/Lite Class:

Langston did awesome, not suprisingly. Villopoto got a really crappy start, not sure if he fell or not. Ramsey fell, I believe.

250/450F/Supercross Class:

Charmichael checked out from lap one.

Stewart fell once in the first lap, once in the second lap, and once in the third lap. Went from last to 8th.

Tedesco is doing awesome. Fonseca put the heat on Preston 'til the end. McGrath fell. Vuillemin fell once, and then faded back.

Got my tickets for San Diego, Plaza 31, Row 1, Seats 6 thru 9.

RC has got them right where he wants them. Still a little early for protect mode, but it's coming. Just like '05 and '03, he will win the title but his late season victories will be few.

When was the last time RC failed to make a podium?

Anaheim 05.

RC got 3rd in the '05 A1 mud race after crashing. He had a dominating lead when he first crashed. He won A2 and A3 in '05.

I went to the AMA page and confirmed he podiumed every round in '05.

According to the AMA site, the last non-podium in an AMA SX that RC raced was Round 2 (Phoenix) in '03. He got 4th that race after winning Round 1.

After Pheonix, RC got 14 straight podiums in '03, did not race in '04, earned 16 straight podiums in '05, and 5 straight in '06. That's 35 races and counting.

I wonder if McGrath ever had a longer string of podiums.

Stewart's heat race set the tone for the final.. He took a crazy chance to pass Reed in the first lap and it worked. In the final he pushed a little too hard to the first corner and it didn't work, then two more times pushed too far. I really thought from the past few rounds he had matured enough to not do this silliness. If he would just have rode smart after the mistake in the first corner he could have had 3rd.

I noticed MC wasn't in any hurry to pick his bike off of Bubba's :p

I wouldn't be in a hurry either after I just had my front wheel smoked outa my hands. But in MC's defense, in that type of deal, when the bike which is under gets picked up at the same time, it yanks the top bike out of the riders hands. If you look close MC was picking up the bike and JS picked up his bike harder and it popped outa MC's hands. Then he looked at him and was like ok lets start over.........(nice version) I know what would have happened if that was me laying there.
I still think this type of bangin around is going to hurt JS in the future, riders have some of the best memorys.

Did Bubba suddenly forget how to ride? He looked like me at one race last season - washing out the front end two or three times in one heat. LOL. My excuse was I hadn't checked the tire pressure and my front tire had 7 lbs in it.

Wonder what Bubba's excuse was? They didn't interview him on Speed.

He may not have nabbed the #1 podium spot yet, but the man is consistant, and his consistancy has now got him above JS in the overall points at the moment.

Remember, you don't have to win races to win the title.

After watching the heat races, I was ready to give Stewart the win. He was flat smokin' thru the whoops. It was a whole 'nutha scenario in the main. I'd be interested in what James has to say.

I hope Hot Sauce keeps improving.

He called Ivan a chump when he didn't let him pass because he wanted to "battle" with the big boys. He had a chance to do battle with RC in A3 but didn't keep up. He said he was "freaked out" when he saw so many riders crashing so he backed off. Not the words of a champion in my opinion. If he wants the championship he should be battling for first instead of waiting for mistakes in 2nd. Don't get me wrong, CR is a great and consistant racer, but head to head he doesn't have the speed of RC or JS.

"Rain or Shine" my a$$! I was shocked to see JS ride like that. Too bad he didn't have the composure that he showed in Phoenix. Its going to take a huge mistake by RC for JS to catch up... not likely, but anything is possible.

BTW that start was awesome up to the first corner!

premature scrubulation

i think that there is something to this? have to ask the resident expert to check it out, but the front wheel seems to slide more on that KX then other type machines.

she knows who that is.

Frankly if I were MC I would be PISSSSSED. He has been finishing well and trying to finish as high as he can as well (not some no name punk). Also, MC has been very gracious in letter the leaders pass when getting lapped, yet JS freakin bombs into him. Payback is a bith JS, next time you are lapping MC don't look for MC to pull over for you. I have never had a reason to root against JS, but being an MC fan, that crap ticks me off!!

the front wheel washes out more, because he was trying to do EVERYTHING he could to get hte wholeshot, well, he went to deep and payed for it. Watch RC on the start, it was obvious he got a great start, but he started to brake earlier, JS broke to late. RC obviously knows his and his bikes limits better than JS does.

I am the biggest MC fan there is. Part of the reason I don't like RC. So I was not happy when I heard JBS took him out. I watched the incident over and over, frame by frame and it was in no way JBS fault. James jumped into the corner on the inside of MC, clearly had the inside line. MC was on the outside and high on the berm when he locked the rear brake and was going to square the corner off squirting inside and let JBS go right by. We have seen MC do that move for years. This time however the back end drifted around like normal and when he got on the gas to square it off, he ran into JBS rear tire and they both went down. If anyone should be pissed it should be JS.

Don't believe me? Get a Tivo and watch it frame by frame, I did. The camera does not lie.

im gonna blame it on the announcers for JS , the way i see it the announcers kept harping on the point that RC couldnt keep JS pace in the heat race. JS wanted to keep his newfound maturity but how could he when even the announcers knew he was going to blow the doors off everyone and he owned the track. sad, sad deal there, the racing was getting good to , hopefully JS gets his head back next week

Me and my Tivo disagree, Thump. It looked to me like a bit of a reckless move. JBS shot under MC, but he was using an apex much later in the turn, so when MC, who had already set up for an earlier apex, made his turn, JBS was still going straight toward his apex. You just can't do that and not expect somebody to go down; you've left the other guy nowhere to go but into you. Still, it was a racing move, not dirty, just very, very aggressive. Stewart was just in full banzai mode, the way he gets when he's behind. He rides much better when he's ahead, as that's where he's used to being. He's not out of the hunt yet, though. We've seen RC in the dirt, too, and all it takes is a fussy four-stroke to cost a guy five or more places. There's a lot of racing left.
