My KDX 200 2000 mod runs front 15 rear 48 . labours a bit between 3rd and 4th gears .Any ideas on sprocket sizes .Most of my riding i do in the bush. Paul
US gearing is 13/47 anyway. Don't know if the 'street legal' overseas types are the same or not.
I use 13/47 in the sand..but that consists mostly of WOT all the time. In the woods, it's just too tall! With 12/47 you'll likely be one gear up, so you end up shifting less.
That's not a recommendation for a 12T CS sprocket in your case...just giving you and idea of what gearing works how other places.
Drop to a 13T. You can change it in about 2 minutes. Don't need to take the chain off or anything.
If your chain is maxxed out adjust-wise with the 14, the 13 will make it too long.
If you're running the oem 108 link chain, with a 14, you should be pretty 'short' already.
It's cheep, too! Maybe $15 for a good one. Certainly no trouble with the slipper if you use a 13T. Heck..no trouble with the slipper with a 12T!
