stalling in neutral need help!

this is my first bike a xr80 and when i start it up in neutral it will start to stall then stall after 5 to10 seconds the only way i can keep the bike going is to give it gas every few seconds and when i do give it gas it will make a popping sound

ok, that sounds normal for a 2 stroke, their not really meant to idle. Bud you can adjust it by turning in your idle adjustment screw.

Go to bikebandit.com and find your bike there, select your caburetor and find the idle screw. That is then one you need to turn in for higher idle and out for less idle.

my bike doesnt like to idle either, u just gotta keep giving it gas

just last week it was in neutral and it was fine without giving any gas and now it also stalls in gear when i hold in the clutch

i found what was wrong it was the gas i had the gas in my garage since last august so i drained
the gas and put some premium gas and it runs fine
