Im 15 years old and I am in the best shape of my life ive been training and riding hard trying to get ready for the first LL qualifier in the NW. I know I have to keep going in order to stay in shape but im starting to slug down and its realy hard for me to stay motivated. I cant get a personal trainer or go to the gym (do to budget). So I have to make my own training rutine and extemely hard to stay on it. I NEED SOME MOTIVATION please help.

Take a break in your routine and do something different. Since you are in your best condition you might back off your training to 80% and recharge. Then build back up to 90% then 100%. It can't be 100% all the time. You want to be 100% when it counts. When I lose motivation I back off. I will train at a lower level and not ride my bike. I won't ride until I can't stand it anymore, then I have my best rides.

If you are getting ready for Loretta's I don't recommend slacking off in your workout routine at all considering the caliber of racers you will be putting yourself up against. Remember, you are young, you can take it. The harder you work now the better prepared you will be on race day; and that is what really matters. Try changing up your routine a little bit. Do some cross training such as mountain biking, wakeboarding(weather permitting), road biking, boxing, basketball, or anything else fun and active you can think of. Combine some of these with your usual routine and you should have a killer workout. Good Luck at Loretta's!!

In my Gym class we are doin a unit on tenis. I have alot of fun doing and it's a great work out. It doesn't cost alot and you can do it with your friends. I am going to buy a raquet (as soon as this snow melts...GRRRR!)
