Bummer!

This is getting very bad if they stole it out of a locked enclosed trailor, which I assume you were near to? I'm tellin' you -- knowing what I know about dirtbikers, someones gonna get hurt.

Maybe that won't be too bad, either. :think

Very bad news JP. Sorry to hear about that. Get ahold of Elk when he gets back from Ocotillo, chasing down scum buckets is his speciality.:think

When you hurt, we hurt, and I feel your pain. I can guarantee that it'll show up out in Riverside county so I'll pass the word around for you. I've also got a guy down in eastern San Diego county that really likes other peoples stuff, if you know what I mean! We'll have to pay him a visit. I hope you had it put into the stolen system, if not let me know. I'll check to see if it's in myself.

It's not in yet, did you file the theft report? It needs to be done asap so no one gets burned when they try and buy it and you have a better chance at getting it back. E-mail me if you need help with it.

Boy this is tough, tried calling BLM & the Rangers Station yesterday, no luck , called El Centro PD this morning and was told to contact my local CHP office,so that's were I'm headed now. Funny thing is,is that the El Centro PD was complaining that they and the Rangers ( 2 rangers this weekend ) get NO support from other agencies on weekends like this and that 85% of the people out there are good law abiding people, it's the 15% that are younger teens and early twenties that create the problems, According to E.C.P.D.

Lots of bike stolen over the weekend, including some poor guys drive shaft was stolen while he slept.....

Oh, I just noticed.......it'a Yamaha......oh well, I'll look anyway! Just kidding. Here's something you can do on your end. Start checking the recycler.com site and search for your model/year bike, believe it or not, most of them aren't real smart and tend to advertise them in the paper (yes, it's true!). I'll put out the feelers and see if we can't turn that little scooter up! Good luck

I contacted my partners down in the El Centro area and gave them the info on your ride too. At least it's not a 4 stroker, I'd have a tough time with that one!

Like I said before, I feel for you guys. There's nothing worse than some jerk taking what you've worked hard for. It's hard enough for me to control my personal feelings when I catch one of these guys. I'm just as human as you and what you feel and want to do is the same as what I feel and want to do, but unfortunately, you'd have a better chance at getting away with it then me! The word is out along with the bike info so hopefully it will turn up.

I'll be going to Gordon's Well for the week of Thanksgiving so 'll keep a look out there for the bike. Hopefully they leave the dirtrider.net fender stickers on it (but I doubt it) that way it will be easy to spot and give me a reason to approach the guy to correctly ID the bike. If I start talking to the guy about the web site and he doesn't have a screen name or is vague about it, that will give me a clue that the bike could be yours.

I hate to say it, but lets say this guy looks at the dirtrider.net stickers and now he goes here and reads all the forums, and see's all these plans, he will for sure keep it low, and make sure the bike is never seen again. I don't mean to scare you Jpivey but im just saying it's a possibility and maybe his cronie friends are looking out for him.

But the chances of some lowlife having a computer (well stealing one) and knowing how to use it are slim and none. Damn I hate theives almost as much as I hate terrorists

I appreciate it Ridir, thanks for the thought. I think that if the idiot is smart enough to get on this site then so be it. He'll then begin to understand how many people he's pissed off, and it's not even their bike. At least he'll see all the people that will be looking for that bike and it'll make it so he won't be able to enjoy it at all without looking over his shoulder.

The next trip I take to the track I'll start looking at the bikes on the sly and we can make sure he won't be able to ride the track either! All we can hope is that a fellow dirt rider sees it before I do then some dirt justice can begin! Something I had to give up due to the job, bummer!

JP,

Have you posted any info on www.glamisdunes.com or www.glamisonline.com? Tons of Glamis people there that may be able to help out in some way. Any crazy things on the bike that may distinguish it from others? Dented frame from a hard case? Tear in the seat? Funky ass little mod that no one does? Stuff that's kinda indivual but obvious enough to just glance and notice? I ride at a lot of the local tracks and Ocotillo Wells a lot so if there is something to make it stand out I'll keep my eyes open.

Hey sirhk, Thanks for the info, I never knew there was a site for Glamis.

There really isn't any distinguishing about the bike, other than the fender stickers, paddle tire ( new ) it's completely stock with the exception of Renthal bars, ( gold anodized bar ends )Renthal bar pad ( blue ) and a set of Black/blue 909 grips ( right side is torn ) also a small scape on left side of pipe and a twinair filter sticker on the rear fender.

Thats about all I can think of.

Both my son and I would like to thank all of you, espeacally 454elk for all your help ,my son Sean is pretty amazed by the amount of people that have posted to this.

Thanks again

Sean & Jim

Hey Jim, the info you sent me at work should be posted here, I know someone else would have seen these guys you were talking about. I sent that info down to my counterparts in San Diego this morning.
I'd hate to see what happens when they get caught by fellow dirt riders when they try and ride that bike!

Lastest info

It seems that one of my sons riding buddies talked to these guys that were camped across the rode from them.

He said all they were doing was camping, drinking and selling Volcum beanies, in the course of their conversation, one of them mentioned that they lived close to the boarder.

The reason this is being mentioned is that these guys were camped and were there when my son and his buddy left to go help out another friend who was stuck. When they returned 30 mins. later, these guys were gone and so was the bike.

He said that there was 2 Hispanic, 1 African American and 1 Caucasian, they were driving a late model '99-'01 light colored Ford F-150.

If this rings any bells, let us know

Thanks
