At least that is what you would think hit us last night :bang: . Local news started last night preparing us for the end of the world- snow was predicted to fall in Wisconsin during the winter :yikes: . They told us how bad it was going to be. this morning I wakr up to the news saying nothing about real news but continueing to babble about the snow.
They showed their reporters on the scene as the snowplows left the garage
they showed us impassible sidewalks with 6" of fluffy snow :yikes:
they showed us drifts 5 feet tall (where the plows happened to push the snow :coocoo:
they told us it was dangerous to travel :bang:
they tried to scare the crap out of everyone because they are to inept to find a real story.

I know parts of the country did get real storms and power outages as well as other problems but they still told us how bad we have it

can't they get real and realize it is winter in Wisconsin and it snows- sometimes even real storms with wet heavy 10 to 15 inch totals.

To put it in a different perspective, if that's the worst thing they can find to rant and cause panic about on the news, it must be a good day........

Oh wait, this is the flame board......those bastages, metorological "science" my arse. Miss Cleo could have called that one and probably have as good of a batting avg!!!!!

Dave-Don't panic. And for God's sake, don't shoot at the helicopters dropping relief packages of food. They're there to help!

No kidding Dave, that's all they had on here too. I'm thinking, "It's January.....in Iowa.....it's snowing.....imagine that!" At least we got a break from hearing about Brit's latest marriage, or Whacko Jacko's latest child molestation!!

Yeah, well after getting used to the warm weather when visiting my parents down south (its 78 degrees today in Fla), they can keep the "variety" that is served up here in the midwest. Midwest is good for about 2-3 months of good weather, the rest of the year is determined by the thermostat.

I'd take some warm, sunny monotony

I was watching our local news last night for the weather on Sunday, this guy called the next storm coming in as the perfect storm, a low off central Ca. and Tropical moisture from the South joining together over SoCal , then they show video from only the worst hit areas from Dec 03.

I thought it was pretty sad that even the weather man has to create drama

Dave, man, the only reason they do this stuff is to validate the exorbitant outlay of cash for up to date, minute by minute weather tracking systems a la Doppler, and to please the weather men, and make them feel like real news people. It is sooooo effin ridiculous......did you know that they are saving lives by warning us that it might be slippery outside, oh, and cold. What are they going to do if we ever actually get real snow?

That stuff is kinda important down here, lol. And they do go nuts with it. If there is a storm in the spring, forget watching a TV show, they break in about every 2 minutes to update.

Here they break in every 2 minurtes to update us on the current car chases on the freeways - if they haven't gone live and stayed on them instead of our usual programming.

We got 6-9", so school was closed and all evening activities are cancelled. The roads were a little icy this morning, but we DO live in Michigan. It DOES snow in January. The weatherpeople are acting as if it has never snowed before. They are calling it "BIG Winter Storm", first snow storm of 2005, 2nd snow storm this winter...We haven't had any snow since Christmas. Now everyone has forgotten how to drive, again. I know it's been a few weeks, but not long enough to forget how to drive. On my way to work last night (3rd shift this week) I was taking my time getting to work, because the roads were a little icy. I'm in my all wheel drive Explorer and had already slid through one stop sign. Anyway, some idiot in a little Ford Festiva gets all antsy and decides he's going to go around me (normally this is a no passing zone) well he gets beside me and loses traction. Next thing I know he's sliding around in front of me and slides into the other lane, facing the opposite direction. I waved while I was passing by. Probably a little uncalled for, but he was fine and there wasn't any other traffic.
