I have had the week fom Hades! Let's see...On tuesday, a child at school hit my five yea old son in the side of the head with a book bag, rupturing his ear drum. On wednesday, the ABS system on our Dodge Caravan decided we didn't really need brakes after all. On thursday my truck was broken into. Friday morning, I leaned that the Corporation that owns our company is restructuring all the local centers, eliminating my job, as well as several others. On friday night, I was in the emergency room for five hours, because I broke my hand when my dog ran between my legs, tripping me and causing me to hit my hand on the corner of the kitchen counter.

I only hope that was the other shoe dropping.

Man is it hard to type with a cast on one hand.

Sounds as if you didn't have bad luck, you would have no luck at all. It's hard to see right now and it may take some time, but there will be some positives that come out of this. Just keep going forward.

Now Spanky, let's get this in perspective - your bike is OK, right? So anything else is just really an inconvenience - 'cept the hand which will stop you riding.

Remember, NO SNIVELLING! Just keep saying - "It's going to get better, it's going to get better!".

Now take two deep breathes from the air filter oil bottle and watch "Time to Ride" and call us in the morning.

I heard a saying once, about how if we all were to throw all of our problems into a big pot, and reach in and take some out, most of us would choose to take back our own.
After hearing about your week, I feel much better about mine!
I hope things get better for you!:D

Anyone ever had a broken hand set? It hurts a lot worse than breaking it does. An assistant holds your elbow while the doctor grabs your fingers and pulls on your hand very hard while shaking it up and down. I have a high tolerance for pain, and can normally face most things silently. But even with Novacain and a seemingly numb hand, I could not keep myself from screaming when he pulled and pushed the bones back into place. A very humbling experience that I hope never to repeat.

Kiwi, the hand is the least of my problems. I am now faced with finding a job, a difficult task when you are a heating/ac technician with a broken hand.

Hey Spanky,

Sounds like a **** week. Sorry to hear about it. I guess the job thing would be at the top of my list as well. I've been in a pinch once or twice in the last ten years as far as jobs go, and things had a way of working out for the best although at the time, it really stunk to have to worry about the future. Good Luck to you.

The wrist incident sounds like a real cleansing experience. The last time I got hurt bad was on a mountain bike. My front tire washed out @ 25 mph and I landed on my hip. I screamed for about 5 minutes. If anyone heard me, they went the other way :) I guess you didn't get anything good for the pain :( .

Always seems like you either get no problems or too many at once. Hang in there.

He's my wifes dog. I hate the yippy little ankle biter. If I thought I could get away with it, he would just dissapear one day, but then I would be taking his place sleeping in the dog house and eating dog food from a dish on the floor.:think :debil: ;)

The doctor wants to recheck his ear next week to see if there is any permanent hearing loss. The ear drum is healed pretty much, but there is still some fluid behind it that she wants to get cleared up before rechecking it.
