I've done a search of the subject, went to the MX tech web and didn't find anything there either. The shop manual doesn't discuss this. How much sag should I have, both unweighted and weighted with the 04 KDX?

I set mine to about 3" from static....meaning bike on stand, rear wheel completely unloaded vs me sitting on the seat. A lot depends on how you want it to turn. You can play with the adjustment a bit until you feel it performs the way you want it to.

Appreciate your responses, couldn't imagine why tommrtg was up at 4:38 am until I saw that he is nearly halfway around the world. Wasn't even aware of the other website, will be checking in there often as well.

100mm of sag with the rider in full gear on the bike

The Team Green Canadian site has 35mm - 40mm of free sag, but that seems a bit much to me. 25mm (roughly) is a good measure to shoot for.

As far as spring rate, (roughly!), if you are 175 in full gear, the stock shock spring is correct, add .02 on the rate for each 25 pounds of weight, 4.8 for 150 pounds, 4.6 for 150 pounds, etc.
